How I Made An Extra $1250.91 in October ‘22
And just like that October is over and it’s time to add up my extra income from side hustles. This month I went on a holiday interstate with my family to attend a wedding, which never would have happened if it wasn’t for the extra money I’ve been making on the side.
Although we had a blast on our little holiday, it was short lived when we returned home and our toddler was hospitalised with pneumonia. Fortunately, after a couple of weeks of medication and rest he’s now back to his crazy 3-year-old self, but it has been a chaotic month and my family took priority over side hustles.
In October, I was able to make an extra $1,250.91 from home by using the following sites.

Surveys $521.78
I didn’t spend as much time doing surveys this month as I usually do, but fortunately a lot of the ones I did paid a good amount and didn’t take very long to do.
I dedicated about 90 minutes a day to surveys this month and I mostly did them while watching Halloween movies before bed.
The best survey sites for me this month were:
AttaPoll was my favourite survey site again this month. There was always a lot of surveys available and quite a few paid really well.
As always there were plenty of low earning surveys, but I don’t waste my time with those.

Octopus Group started out slow this month, but towards the end a whole heap of great surveys popped up. There were quite a few longer surveys available which were well worth the time.

I enjoy using PureProfile because it’s a bit more consistent with plenty of surveys to choose from and they all pay a reasonable amount.
This month I redeemed another $100 gift card through PureProfile which I was able to use to get started on my Christmas shopping.

What I love about PurplePatch is that it not only has great paying surveys, but it also has surveys that screen you for market research opportunities. I’ve been able to participate in some great studies thanks to PurplePatch.

Swagbucks can be hit or miss but this month they offered bonus points on surveys which I took full advantage of. It meant their surveys were well worth the time and I made a lot more than I usually do through them.

Cashback $162.41
The cashback apps I used in October were ShopBack and CashRewards .
In October we celebrated my youngest son’s first birthday. As always, I checked all the cashback sites to see where I could get the best deals before buying his presents. There were a few “boosted” cashback offers this month that I was able to take advantage of, like 25% cashback at Best & Less.

Savings Trackers $191.72
Selling savings trackers through my Etsy store and on my website has been a nice little income earner for me. I worked on some custom designs this month and have been busy creating some new designs.
Market Research $330.00
This month I participated in a couple of online panels and diaries where I gave my opinions on different product ideas. These were a lot of fun and I was able to do them in my own time which is very handy because being a mum can make it difficult to commit to certain times.
These market research invitations I received came from participating in surveys through AttaPoll and PurplePatch.
ReceiptJar $10.00
I’ve been using ReceiptJar for quite some time now and have reached a level where I get quite a lot of bonus points each month.
ReceiptJar is an app that allows you to scan your receipts for points that can then be redeemed for gift cards.
It was slow going at the start but it's getting easier to accumulate points as time goes on.

NielsenIQ Beauty Panel $35.00
The NielsenIQ Beauty Panel is an app where I scan my beauty and personal care purchases.
Each week they offer 15 points if you scan a purchase or 10 if you don't, so either way you get paid. They automatically send out a $10 gift card when you reach 100 points.

I didn’t earn as much as I usually do this month, which was to be expected given the chaotic month I had, however it’s been an absolute game changer for our finances to be able to consistently earn over $1,000 each month from my side hustles alone. I’m hoping next month will be less crazy and I’ll be able to put more energy into making some more money.
