How I Made An Extra $1063.78 In April ‘23
April is over already and we are now one third of the way through 2023! April was an awesome month for us filled with celebrations and spending time with our loved ones over the Easter holidays.
The kids spent a lot more time at home due to the holidays and although my house has been absolute chaos, luckily I was still able to make some good money on the side.
In April, I was able to earn an extra $1,063.78 by using the following sites and apps.

Surveys $312.79
This month wasn’t too bad for surveys. I have a few go-to survey sites which I check each day and I choose which surveys I want to do based on time and how much they pay.
On average, I spent about an hour and a half each day doing surveys this month, which I usually do at the end of the day when I’m watching LEGO Masters on TV.
The best survey sites for me this month were:
PureProfile is my new favourite survey site this month, as it had heaps of surveys available and I was able to redeem a bunch of gift cards which helped me pay for my weekly grocery shops.
You can sign up to PureProfile here.
AttaPoll was consistent again this month and I was able to do quite a few good surveys through it. There's always surveys available, but only a handful actually pay a decent amount. I only complete surveys that pay at least 17c a minute (roughly $10 an hour).
You can sign up to AttaPoll here.
I completed some great surveys through Octopus Group in April . They are by far the best paying survey site I use and I can redeem my earnings for gift cards or withdraw straight to my bank account.
You can sign up to Octopus Group here.
PurplePatch was good to me this month. I get quite a few market research opportunities through PurplePatch which are always well worth the time, and they often have some great paying surveys as well.
You can sign up to PurplePatch here.
Swagbucks offers a variety of different ways to make extra money, from answering their daily polls to playing games. Sometimes Swagbucks has some good surveys so I make sure to keep an eye out each day.

Cashback $127.84
The cashback apps I used in April were ShopBack and CashRewards.
We had a few special occasions in April, so I made sure to utilise cashback sites when buying gifts for our loved ones.

Savings Trackers $263.15
I was really happy with the amount I made this month by selling savings trackers through my Etsy store and on my website. I have a lot of fun with this little side hustle and I love that I can help people work towards their savings goals.
Market Research $315.00
I’m really enjoying market research at the moment as it’s super easy to do and it pays really well. The market research activities I completed this month included online diaries and product testing.
The market research invitations I received came from participating in surveys through AttaPoll and PurplePatch.
ReceiptJar $5.00
ReceiptJar is an app that allows you to scan your receipts for points that can then be redeemed for gift cards. I consistently scan all of my physical and digital receipts using the app and I’m now at a level where I get a nice amount of bonus points. It’s easy and quick to use so it’s certainly not a bad way to make a bit of extra money.
You can sign up to ReceiptJar here. Make sure to use the referral code MADISOC7 to receive 200 points when you scan your first receipt.
Nielsen Beauty Panel $40.00
This month I received a $40 in gift cards from Nielsen Beauty Panel for scanning beauty purchases and referring a friend.
The NielsenIQ Beauty Panel is an app where I scan my beauty and personal care purchases. Each week they offer 15 points if you scan a purchase or 10 if you don't, so either way you get paid. They automatically send out a $10 gift card when you reach 100 points. Sign up here to receive a $30 welcome gift card.
Life seems to be getting busier and busier by the day, but I’m pretty happy with the routine I’ve got going with my side hustles. With the cost of living continuing to rise it’s become more and more important for me to make money on the side, so I’m hoping to stay consistent and earn another $1,000+ in May.
