How I Made An Extra $1018.99 In January ‘23

2023 is well underway now and I’ve been busy working on my side hustles. I’m pretty anxious about what this year has in store for us, given the state of the economy and the consistent rise in inflation. At this point, the extra money I make from side hustles is what keeps us on top of our finances, so I have a lot of work to do in order to stay in front this year.

January started off slow as there wasn’t a whole lot surveys or market research opportunities over the holiday period, however it certainly picked up later on in the month.

I’ve managed to kick the year off with an extra $1,018.99 by using the following sites and apps.

Surveys $348.80

January started off slow for my survey sites but it gradually picked up and I was able to earn a decent amount towards the end of the month.

On average, I spent about an hour each day doing surveys this month, which I mostly did while watching tv at night after my kids went to bed.

The best survey sites for me this month were:

AttaPoll

I had a great run with AttaPoll in January. There were a lot of decent surveys that paid quite well and I was able to redeem my money through PayPal, which was nice and easy.

You can sign up to AttaPoll here.

Octopus Group

Octopus Group gave me some great surveys in January. They are by far the best paying survey site I use, however they don’t always have many surveys available.

You can sign up to Octopus Group here.

PureProfile

I enjoy PureProfile because it consistently pays well and I find there's plenty of surveys available each day.

You can sign up to PureProfile here.

PurplePatch

PurplePatch was a little slower this month but I still made a bit of money through them. I enjoy their surveys because they pay quite well and often lead on to great market research opportunities.

You can sign up to PurplePatch here.

Swagbucks

Swagbucks offers a variety of different ways to make extra money, but I mostly keep my eye on the surveys. They don’t usually pay a lot, but every now and then they have gems that pay really well.

You can sign up to Swagbucks here.

Cashback $73.43

The cashback apps I used in January were ShopBack and CashRewards.

I had to do a bit of shopping to get my kids ready for daycare and kinder this year. As always, I utilised bonus cashback offers to get money back on my purchases.

You can sign up to ShopBack here and CashRewards here.

Savings Trackers $251.64

I’ve had a great month selling savings trackers through my Etsy store and on my website. I was kept nice and busy with an influx of custom orders and I was also able to sell quite a few pre-made designs as well. This is one of my favourite side hustles because I get to help people reach their savings goals and I have a lot of fun creating the designs.

Market Research $295.00

Over the last month I have received $295.00 for participating in online diaries, online panels and product testing.

The market research invitations I received came from participating in surveys through AttaPoll and PurplePatch.

ReceiptJar $10.00

ReceiptJar is an app that allows you to scan your receipts for points that can then be redeemed for gift cards. I consistently scan all of my physical and digital receipts using the app and I’m now at a level where I get a nice amount of bonus points. It’s easy and quick to use so it’s certainly not a bad way to make a bit of extra money.

You can sign up to ReceiptJar here. Make sure to use the referral code MADISOC7 to receive 200 points when you scan your first receipt.

Adsense $40.12

I use Google Adsense to run ads on my website and this has been a nice way to make a little extra money each month.

This has been a great start to the year and the extra money has certainly come in handy as we prepare for the year ahead. My goal is to keep making a consistent amount from my side hustles and hopefully find some new and exciting ways to increase my income.
